If planting gets delayed, you may consider switching to an earlier hybrid. Although this decision may vary depending on the region you live in, there are a few things to keep in mind when making this important decision including:
The average frost date in the fall (this will affect the number of days you can collect GDUs to get the corn plant to maturity).
The amount of GDUs a hybrid typically needs to reach physiological maturity (black layer) will change when planted later in the season.
If you have any questions regarding planting, contact your dealer or agronomist or click here to send us a note and we will get you in touch with them.
Where does your seed corn come from?
AgReliant Genetics is one of the few seed companies today with our own private library of genetics and we have access to genetics and biotech traits from all over the world! Our seed corn is grown within miles of the production facility located in Battle Creek, NE and is processed and packaged right in Battle Creek. If you want to see the entire seed corn production process from field to bag, watch the video below.
Do you do research in my area?
We sure do! AgReliant Genetics has 14 research stations spread across eight maturity zones and each station has 8 to 10 test sites within a 150-mile radius.
