Although it’s her second year with Producers Hybrids, McKenna Frevert says this summer is far from the same as last summer.
“It’s crazy how much the weather changes my internship. Last summer, I would easily be gone from 8 AM to 8 PM. This year, the first few weeks of my internship have been much less busy and it’s simply because of the cold, wet spring we’ve had. I’m excited for the weather to shape up so I can really get to work.”
McKenna is the Eastern Nebraska region sales intern and is looking forward to returning to customers that she met last year, as well as learning about differences in operations from one farmer to the next.
McKenna attends the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where she studies Animal Science with an emphasis on livestock production and management. She is minoring in Grazing Livestock Systems, as well as Beef Industry Scholars. When McKenna graduates from UNL in December, she hopes to find a career where she can continue to interact one-on-one with producers, much like she does at Producers Hybrids.
One of McKenna’s favorite parts of her job is meeting all the farm dogs, so don’t be surprised if you see her in your yard playing with your friendly pooch!
