Intern of the Week: Kally Philipp

Kally Philipp will be a senior at South Dakota State University in the fall and she is putting her Agronomy major and Pest Management minor to work here at Producers Hybrids. With three previous agronomy internships under her belt, Kally was ready to hit the ground running as the Minnesota Agronomy Intern.

“I get to plan my own days, which is nice because then I can focus on what I’m really interested in. I have enjoyed getting to see so many plots and analyze the progress of each one as crops are emerging.”

Kally will graduate from SDSU in May and hopes to find a career as a full-time agronomist in the seed industry.

“I’m leaning towards the seed industry as a full-time career, so it’s nice to be able to work with Minnesota Sales Agronomist Aaron Ahrenholz to determine if this is something I want to do for the rest of my life.”

Kally’s average day at Producers includes traveling to P3 plots to take stand counts, soil samples and put up signs. While she is there, Kally also likes to check the plots for deficiencies or variances between varieties.

Kally loves agronomy and working with customers and she is #ready4more learning opportunities this summer.
