Seeing as I live in Iowa, it’s funny that it was the last region of Producers Hybrids’ territory that I toured. However, before I even began work this week I was already noticing the impact of Producers Hybrids around the Midwest.
I spent the Fourth of July with some friends, and while we were together my internship with Producers Hybrids came up several times. They would say things like “Don’t you work for that company with the cool plot signs?” (hooray for unique P3 trial signage!) or “Your internship looks like so much fun!” and I would always respond with excitement, ready to tell them all about my summer experiences. However, my favorite thing was when my friends would send me pictures of Producers Hybrids signs that they were passing on the road as they traveled to their holiday destinations. My older brother even took time out of his family vacation to call and tell me that they were seeing a lot of Producers Hybrids signs in Minnesota.
If this told me one thing, it was the fact that signage is of the utmost importance in the agricultural world. Many of you reading this are farmers or are involved in agriculture. When you’re driving down the road, what do you do? You look at the crops. What is a better way to advertise than with signs saying what brand the crop is? So, to those of you who put up agricultural signage, thanks for taking part in that important task! For those of you who may be pushing it off, it really does make a difference. And for those of you who work for Producers Hybrids, get out there and paint the country RED!
After the holiday, I spent the rest of the week in Western Iowa with Trey Kirlin, the Western Iowa Sales Intern, Ethan Earlywine, a Western Iowa District Sales Manager and Cole Rath, a Northern Missouri District Sales Manager. We spent the day traveling the countryside checking crops, checking plots and putting up field signs. Every farmer we talked to was excited to have Producers Hybrids signs going up in their fields, which further reinforced the importance of agricultural signage. Who knew putting up signs could make your customers so happy?
After traveling an estimated 750 miles on Thursday alone, I was excited to be home at the end of the day. However, it seems that no matter how long the day is, I always go to bed with a grateful heart and feeling thankful that I work for such a wonderful company. I loved seeing the footprint that Producers Hybrids is leaving around the Midwest, and I can’t wait to continue to help grow that footprint as my internship continues. Stay tuned for more #PHProjectRED next week!
