2013 – A Great Year

Brian Gould (DSM, Region 4 – Eastern Nebraska)

In August, I decided to join the Producers Hybrids team as a District Sales Manager in Northeast Nebraska. I knew I was going to be a part of a great company with great products.

I have seen Producers Hybrids products perform year in and year out, both as a dealer for Producers Hybrids as well as by planting them on our family farm. This year was no different! Our soybeans and corn performed very well. Soybean yields were some of the best I have seen in years here in Northeast Nebraska.  It was not uncommon for dryland yields to be 60-70 bu/ac. Producers Hybrids 2900 soybeans out yielded the competition 2-6 bu/ac in several side-by-side yield checks.

In corn, harvest yields were extremely good for dryland and irrigated acres.  This was a nice surprise after the drought from last year. Dryers got a workout for those that planted more full season hybrids. Corn moistures in the area ran anywhere from 17-21%. Our products had good overall plant health, which allowed our corn to stand strong and our moistures were consistently 1-2 points drier than the competition.

I had a phone call from a new customer of Producers Hybrids who planted 7224 and 7014. He told me that he was going to combine the Producers last because it was standing perfect. I’ve heard similar things while riding along with customers in their combines. Another new customer stated: “I am very impressed with Producers performance”.  These products have worked great on our own farm and it has been exciting to see the same results come true for my customers. I look forward to working with you to get the right products on your farm in 2014. If you are interested in yield results from 2013, check out our Yield Results tool on our website.
